“AJU!”

When we returned home from Haiti, my husband and I talked about how our lives had changed because of our trip. I wanted to act on a conversation that I had with a man named Gardy on the terrace in Haiti, but didn’t know how. God gave me a plan. We could use the money that was owed to us by one of our tenants to help us purchase land in Haiti. We would buy the land and establish a foundation to reach out to the people in the city of Cap-Haitien, a city in northern Haiti.
I woke up one morning with a burning desire in my heart to step out in faith against all odds. I told my husband the plan, and he was with me 100%. I went to the bank like I was riding on a cloud. It wasn’t until I got out of my truck that I realized I had forgotten my shoes! The Holy Spirit was all over me, squeezing me like an orange. I knew it was the right thing to do.
Then I received the inspiration that we would offer our sisters and brothers the opportunity to join us in this effort to build a center in Haiti. We have been saying AJU for a while now. AJU is a Korean phrase which means “we can do it!” We can work together with a heart of gratitude to liberate the people of Haiti and bring joy to our True Parents. We can work side by side and shout out a heartfelt “AJU!”
